Choosing Correct Dimming Method

NOTICE

  • Due to the complexity of the dimming system, please read installation instructions carefully in Store Page, install & use it with the support of a PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICIAN.
  • Note that according to the product page & Store page to choose your system's components correctly.
  • SCON doesn't directly supply dimming switch, Tuya Zigbee Gateway , but it's compatible with most brand.
  1. TRIAC/ELV: Large market share, tranditional and high compatibility and easy installation. However, it is simple in function and the LED driver power supply may generate audio noise, and the LED lights may flicker.
  2. 0-10V
    1. 10 V is the brightest, and 0 V is turned off. Almost all products from OKT Lighting support 0-10V dimming. 1-10V does not have a switch function, and could not adjust the fixtures to the lowest closing effect.
  3. DALI
    1. Advantages
      1. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is an internationally-recognized lighting control communication protocol.
      2. Digital dimming, dimming accurate, stable and smooth. DALI control is more flexible and has strong anti-jamming ability.
      3. DALI can communicate with each other in both directions, and can feedback the lamp status to the system control interface. So it supports the dimming of a single lamp or a group of areas.
    2. Two types of DALI: 1) DALI Mono-CCT. 2) DALI Multi-CCT (2700K-5700K). About the two, the wiring principle is the same but the components are different (please read the instructions in detail).
  4. Tuya Zigbee Wireless Dim. Switching and dimming control of each fixture individually can be realized through Tuya Smart APP. Group dimming and switching of lamps can be realized, also compatible with Google and Alexa assistant. Operation is a bit complicated and requires patience.
